NOTE:
NOTE:  Indogermanic and Mycenęan labio-velars (kw, gw, khw, ghw,), indicated by Linear B “q,” undergo the following transformations in becoming classical Greek:
  1. before or after υ and before ι (y), they lose the semivowel /w/, becoming k (κ), g (γ), & kh (χ);
    next, after the loss of the semivowel (w), the now velarless gutturals fuse into guttural + y, and then:
    Idg. kwy -> κy -> Attic ττ or Ionic σσ
    Idg. gwy -> γy -> ζ (σδ)
    Idg. ghwy -> χy -> Attic ττ or Ionic σσ
  2. before α, ο or a consonant, they become velarless labials (p [π], b [β], & ph [φ]);
  3. before ε, ει, η or ι, they become velarless dentals (t [τ], d [δ], & th [θ]).

“In textu constituendo semper fere lectiones editorum (PT II, KT II, MT II ) secutus sum.  In indice vocabulorum nomina primę et secundę declinationis plerumque nominativo singulari transcripsi, etiam si is casus in tabellis nondum repertus erat ;  nomina tertię declinationis plerumque uno tantum casu notavi ;  adjectivorum, si masculinum genus in tabellis prębebatur ;  femininum non notavi.
